The Cottage Grove Experience
Life is dramatically different at Cottage Grove. The residences are not like nursing homes where institutional routines define the way of life. No, you won’t see elders rushed to get up for breakfast at 8 am. You won’t see meals served on trays or medication carts rolling through the hallways. You won’t see sterile tile floors cluttered with medical equipment.
The residences are not like assisted living communities modeled after hotels. There are no long corridors where elders retreat to their apartments and become isolated. The activities are not designed for only those who can self-initiate and the meals are not served by waiters.
At Cottage Grove, you will see a dramatic difference. You will see a home and a family! The elders get up at their convenience. They participate in menu planning, meal preparation and home improvements. The staff know the elders, pray with them, dine with them, work with them, and enjoy life with them. You will smell dinner cooking, you will see elders engaged in household chores. At Cottage Grove, you will see how relationships flourish naturally and how genuine love and affection is openly shared. You will see, that despite the challenges of dementia, elders continue to grow and enjoy life.

Our Community…
The Memory Care Residences at Cottage Grove are located in the center of the Cottage Grove Community operated by Pride Mark Homes. Our elders enjoy the amenities of the Cottage Grove community center and the many walking paths that surround the townhomes and the residences. We welcome students from our neighboring Roberts Wesleyan College and other area schools to learn and grow through the wisdom of our elders.
Each residence includes:
- Private bedrooms and bathrooms for each of its 12 residents
- A central hearth with adjacent dining room
- State-of-the-art kitchen
- Two porches
- Secure patio courtyard featuring vegetable and flower gardens
Services Include:
- Caregivers (Shabaz) in each home to help residents with daily tasks such as grooming, cooking and other activities
- Licensed nurses on staff
- Case management services
